Jay Gunter Besheer is the grandson of Gunter's founder, L.R. Gunter. He began his career with Gunter as a teenager in 1969, working summers and holidays. After graduation from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a B.S. degree in Business, he joined the firm full time. Rising through the ranks, Jay was appointed President in January, 1998.
Jay, like his father, has been strongly involved in the pest control industry. He is past president of the Greater Kansas City Pest Control Assn. and is past President of the Kansas Pest Control Assn. He has served as chairman or as a member of various National Pest Management committees, including Business Management, Wood Destroying Insects, Personnel Management, and Marketing. Jay has also served on the Board of Directors of the National Pest Management Association.
Besides serving as an insect expert on various local radio shows, Jay has also served as an expert in matters of termite inspection/treatment disputes.
