Get to know Jay Besheer:
What are your favorite things about Kansas City? Easy place to live, no traffic, slower pace. I grew up in Waldo and went to Hale Cook, Bingham and Southwest High School and the University of Missouri. I made lifetime friends over the years growing up here and still pal around together.
What are your hobbies: I’ve been bowling with friends on the same team since I was 12 in 1967 in south Waldo at Ward Parkway Lanes.
What’s your favorite vacation you’ve ever been on? A trip to Italy with wife and two kids
The most unique experience at Gunter? I gave a last minute termite inspection for a customer on Christmas Day
Favorite insect: I don’t have one, but I’ve collected insect art like sculptures, prints, and paintings for about 30 years
Favorite family tradition: cheese and Cho.
Oldest memory of working at Gunter? In 1963 when I was eight years old, I would ride around to customers houses with my grandfather on Saturdays when I was out of school and talk to the owners of the houses and tell them how I wanted to be a bug man in the pest control business just like my grandpa when I grew up.
